
Nellie grew up in Toksook Bay and graduated from Nelson Island High School, attended Alaska Job Corps Center, and has some college experience through the University of Phoenix.
Ms. Jimmie also worked for her family-owned business: Bayview General Merchandise Inc. While working for the business, Nellie gained experience in budget management, logistics, and other operational services.
Unangiq served on the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) Board, representing Toksook Bay. Some her interests include knitting musk ox qiviut sewing (seal hat & gloves), qaspeq, dance fans and headdresses, and subsistence hunting, fishing, and gathering.
Ms. Jimmie is Yup'ik, Ojibwa, and Lakota descent. Her parents are Alexie and Aleta Jimmie. Unangiq embraces her traditional culture and knowledge to guide her as she served her first term as House Representative for District 38.
